Executive Director
Edward Schaefer is the Executive Director of Athens Y Camp for Boys and Camp Chattooga for Girls. He lives in Toccoa, GA with his wife, Paula and three children, Paul, Garland, and Spencer. Edward is a graduate of Liberty University with a degree in Youth Ministries. His wife has a double major in Psychology and Public Relations and a Masters in Counseling. Edward has been a part of AYC since his youth having gained over 35 years of experience with the camps.
Office Director
Natalie Stowe serves as the Office Director of the Athens Y Camp for Boys and Camp Chattooga for Girls. Her journey at AYC began at the age of 16 when she started as the "laundry lady" for the boys' camp. Her passion for camp life quickly grew, leading her to work every summer and even some during the winter months throughout her early years until she left to attend college.
In 2004, Natalie returned to the Athens Y Camps as a full-time staff member. Since then, she has dedicated her career to creating meaningful experiences for campers and families. Natalie feels truly blessed to be part of the Y Camp family and experience the joy and impact of camp every single day.
She lives in Toccoa, GA with her husband, Matt and two children, Rhett and Kendall.
Retreat/Assistant Director
Paul grew up in Toccoa, Georgia, but he has spent every summer of his life at the Athens Y Camps. Paul graduated with a Sport Management degree from Liberty University in 2018. Paul now works at camp full time and serves as our Assistant Director and Retreat Director. Paul is a strong Christian and has a passion for kids and loves being at Athens Y Camps more than any other place on earth.

Food Service Director
Danny grew up in Wilkes County, Georgia and moved to North Georgia to attend Toccoa Falls College in the late 90's. Danny has been working at the Athens Y Camps since 2008. Danny has the most demanding job at the camp. Danny has to oversee and cook for both the boy's and girl's camp every single day. Most of Danny's day consist of wakng up at 5:00am, being on his feet all day, and then finishing his day around 7:30 that night. Danny is a very hard and thorough worker and puts fourth 100% effort in everything he does for Athens Y Camps.
Camp Chattooga Director
Anna grew up in Thomson, Ga. She began attending Camp Chattooga at 7 years old and has attended every summer for 18 years, 8 of which were spent on staff. Anna graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in Child and Family Development. She has spent the last two years working for Tennessee’s Early Intervention System, helping provide services for children with special needs.
